Thomas Baldwin, a Budd Larner shareholder, is a matrimonial/family law litigation specialist. He has substantial experience handling virtually all matters pertaining to family law including without limitation, marriage dissolution (e.g., divorce, annulment, separate maintenance), custody, child removal matters, establishing, modifying based on changed circumstances, and enforcing support obligations (child support, alimony, and related economic obligations), drafting and enforcement of all types of agreements (e.g., cohabitation, premarital, marital, reconciliation, divorce and post-marital), palimony, and domestic violence. He is also an active appellate advocate, having appeared in New Jersey's Appellate Division and Supreme Court on numerous occasions. He is the co-author of one of New Jersey's leading treatises on Family Law, and is regularly invited to speak on family law issues. He was in the first class of New Jersey attorneys certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a "Matrimonial Attorney".

  • Conlon v. Conlon, 335 N.J. Super. (Ch. Div. 2000) (former spouse's post-judgment cohabitation with another in a relationship akin to marriage not a basis for terminating limited duration alimony; economic impact analysis of cohabition on need for alimony pursuant to Supreme Court's Gayet decision, as well as circumstances surrounding original alimony agreement, necessary).
  • N.B. v. T.B., 297 N.J. Super. 35 (App. Div. 1997) (sets standard for a finding of harassment in a domestic violence matter and approves of the court's entry of civil restraints in a concurrent divorce proceeding where the acts alleged do not necessarily rise to the level of domestic violence but where there is demonstrated tumult between the parties).
