Budd Larner shareholder Josh M. Mann acted as counsel to New Jersey Institute of Technology before the Newark Planning Board for the first phase of the multi-phase “NJIT Gateway Redevelopment” in downtown Newark. The first phase, estimated to cost approximately $80 Million, will include the Dorman Honor’s College and 10 units for fraternities and sororities. In total, it will increase on-campus living capacity by 600 students, and also include a fitness center, retail, dining facility, open space and parking. It also represents the long-awaited moves of fraternities off of Martin Luther King Boulevard, contributing to the redevelopment of that corridor near St. Michael’s Hospital. Theodore D. Cassera, P.E., P.P. of Omland Engineering Associates, Inc. acted as site engineer and planner and W. Barry Agnew of Agnew-Rincon Architects is the architect. Budd Larner, P.C. serves as co-counsel to NJIT with Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. Construction is expected to commence in the Spring of 2012.
